The design is weird and sometimes even obtuse, but the developers' vision is apparent, and it's fun to see their largely-unfiltered decisions on display. The game is the perfect encapsulation of what I love about the mid-tier jank of ten years ago, a genre and class of game that's largely disappeared in recent years.
